Episode 13 2026
A little snapshot of a client’s garden I have designed and managed for over ten years’ has been aired on BBC Gardener’s World. Filmed back in early August 2025, the production team have managed to distill beautifully the garden’s ethos.
Our garden spaces are not just about us. How we choose to manage and design them can have a detrimental impact on a range of ecosystems and creatures that we depend on for pollination, food production, pest control, soil health etc. This episode focuses on our night pollinators and how we need to be more mindful of the types of light we put in our gardens.
Thank you to the GW team, my gardening team and to my incredible clients for their ongoing support in how their garden matures and develops. It is a privilege to see this space grow.
July 2023
On the back of the RHS Nocturnal Pollinator Experience feature garden at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in 2023, a piece on the importance of our night shift pollinators was published in the Guardian.
Non-native, heady-scented plants that exude their fragrance in the evenings are the go too repertoire of plants to attract moths to your garden. However, these alone will not give our night pollinators what they need to thrive.
Think native, embrace the wilder plants that so many are trying to get rid of. It is these plants that will provide the habitat for many moths during their larval stage. The next call to action is to reflect on how we manage our gardens. Neat and tidy gardens will mean overwintering sites for many moths are swept up and placed in council bins…
